Explore Program

FLL Explore

Halton STEM Club’s FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) Explore program is designed to introduce students to robotics, coding, engineering design and 3D modeling through hands-on activities and projects. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, students in this program learn to identify connections and similarities between different technologies and form an intuitive understanding of logic, math, and science.

Students gain experience with various programming and design programs including LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime,  TinkerCAD, Pybricks, and even Python!

FLL is much more than robotics! Students also learn how to work as a team, how to research, and how to develop impactful solutions which becomes the foundation for their Show-Me poster. Teams also construct a motorized model of what they learned using LEGO elements.  At the end of the season, students participate in a Festival which allows them to share their learnings with other Explore teams from across Ontario.

Students are requested to bring their own device. We will use them as needed in the class.

Schedule (1).jpg

Explore team members meet Saturday mornings from September to May with a short pause in the program in December and January.  In-class meetings are held with a duration of 2 hours per week.
